Solidago and Basalt Domes are now accepting bookings!

Chengwatana Dome is coming soon! We are finalizing all the details for the most perfect stay for our guests. Don’t miss our opening day to book your stay! We will update those on our mailing list first so be sure to get yourself on that list.

What days can I check in/out?

Any day during the weekday and Friday check-ins for the weekends. Due to high demand for weekends, we do not allow for Saturday check ins/outs.

Can I book year round?

Yes! We are open year-round! We make the most of our Minnesota winters by getting outdoors and enjoying cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing, and hiking followed by cozying up inside the dome with a warm drink in hand. And did we mention each dome has infloor heat for those chilly winter mornings?

Why geodesic glamping domes?

Sustainability is important at Sweetbriar Ridge. Not only do geodomes provide a unique and safe place to stay, domes are a true example of “doing more with less.” A glamping dome encloses the largest volume of interior space with the least amount of surface area, thus saving on materials and cost. They are one of the most reliable, strongest and energy efficient structures. The dome’s free-standing design allows for air and energy to circulate enabling natural cooling and passive solar for natural heating in winter. At Sweetbriar Ridge, our commitment to sustainability is unwavering, ensuring that every stay with us leaves the lightest possible footprint on our precious planet.

What is it like sleeping in a dome?

One of the most unique (and dog friendly) glamping experiences out there! And trust us, it is waaaay better than sleeping in a tent! Our geodesic domes provide all the comforts from home with all the benefits of being in nature without sleeping on a cold, hard ground. Each dome is equipped with a kitchenette with fridge, 100% cotton linens, shower amenities and essentials, 1 king bed, 1 queen lofted bed, lounge area, table and chairs, heat/ac, infloor heat, and amazing views through the stargazing window and 20 ft bay windows.

The glamping domes are constructed of galvanized steel, extreme insulated liner, and pvc canvas that will keep you warm and dry. When it is windy/rainy outside it can be loud but this is expected and part of the unique experience!

What is the nightly minimum?

  • 2 night minimum
  • 3 night minimum for Holiday weekends
  • occasionally we have single nights available. Subscribe to our email list for alerts!

Most of our guests pick up groceries on their way here so they don’t have to leave! Pine City is just a short 10 minute drive away with a Wal-Mart that has all of your shopping needs.

Pine City has many local restaurants, you can see our list of favorites on  our

What is there to do on & near the property?

We are all about slowing down and noticing the little things by reconnecting with nature and loved ones. The domes and property encourage nature connections, a private outdoor lounge space, and nature features including a beautiful stream and onsite trails to explore. Each dome has luxury amenities to enjoy like a private ensuite bathroom with shower, fire pit and more.

There are so many fun activities to do in the local area! Some of the most popular are canoeing down the St. Croix River, hike the trails in any of the nearby state forests and parks, or grab a bite to eat in town.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes! We are dog friendly as we cannot imagine adventuring without our furry family members.
  • Each dog accommodation is a one time non refundable $150/stay.
  • We currently do not allow any other pet accommodations at this time.
  • Well behaved dogs must remain under owner’s control at all times due to the detrimental effects of wildlife on the property and other guests' safety.
  • Dogs may not be left unattended on the property at any time or left unattended inside of the domes as the walls are made of canvas like material unless crated.
  • Please bring a dog bed as they are not allowed on the bedding. Please bring a towel to wipe their feet when entering the dome.
  • Excess dog hair and dirt may be subject to an additional cleaning fee.
  • Owners must pick up after dog waste and dispose of it in the garbage.
  • Damages caused by pets will be subject to fees.
  • Please do not bathe dogs in dome showers or use white towels on dogs.
  • Please note: If guests attempt to bring a dog that is not on the reservation when booking, they will be charged an additional $200 fee.
  • Dog bowls are provided!

We hope to stay pet friendly for many years to come! Please help us do so by kindly following our pet rules.

Are children allowed?

Yes! Children need nature too! Our domes are built with young families in mind to help with the ease and comfort of getting in nature without all the hassle of tent camping. Our glamping domes are kid friendly and sleep four adults. We provide a complimentary pack-n-play for infants. Please request this PRIOR to your stay so we can have it ready inside of your dome upon check in!

What's your policy for cancellations and rescheduling requests?

To receive a full refund, guests must cancel within 48 hours of booking, and the reservation must occur at least 14 days before check-in. (See Airbnb's cancellation policy upon booking.)

How close are the units to each other?

Solitude is important to us at Sweetbriar Ridge for the best nature immersion experience. Each of our domes are 250-350+ feet apart nestled along the woodsy tree line to increase privacy and solitude during your stay. There are a total of 3 domes on the property for guests to rent.

Quiet Hours?

Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 8 am daily to respect the other guests on the property.

Deposits, Damage fees, Cancellation, Refund Policy?

See our full deposit, damage fee, cancellation, and refund policy on our Airbnb profile.

Wildlife Venue

Often wildlife can frequently visit or often live on the property due to the restoration and conservation work that continually takes place on the property.
  • We ask that all guests respect any wildlife they may see or encounter on the property.
  • We ask that guests do not leave any food or dirty dishes out anywhere on the property or in the dome. Safe bear practices must be followed at all times as the domes are very similar to a tent and food left out is an invitation for the local wildlife to find a snack.
  • Litter and trash not property disposed of by guests may be subject to an additional fee.
  • We ask that guests be mindful of water consumption during their stay to conserve our natural water source on the property sourced 250 ft below the domes.

Is Sweetbriar Ridge glamping domes the right fit for me?

Glamping is equal parts glamp + camp. Which means there will be the occasional bugs, dirt, and whatever mother nature decides to do during your stay. Though we provide many of the same comforts from home, we are not a 5 star hotel. Please note we do not provide on demand services. Your stay will be self-check-in through Airbnb and your hosts can be reached through the airbnb messaging app or by phone during a nonmedical emergency.

Can I Gift a Stay?

Yes!  Send us an email at info@sweetbriarridgemn.com for the amount you would like to gift towards a stay for a special someone. After purchase, an E-gift certificate will be sent via email.
