Embraced by towering white pines, Chengwatana dome beckons guests to immerse themselves in nature's embrace. Its warm, earthy wooden tones and soothing forest greens seamlessly blend indoor comforts with the tranquility of the great outdoors. Embodying the essence of its namesake, this sanctuary pays homage to the rich heritage of Chengwatana, a name derived from the Ojibwe language, signifying the sacred connection to the majestic White Pines that grace the landscape.

Amidst the serene White Pines, lies the forgotten traces of Chengwatana, an ancient Ojibwe village lost to time. At Sweetbriar Ridge, we humbly recognize the land's storied past, once home to the Ojibwe and Dakota peoples. Alongside the tranquil Snake River, weaving through Chengwatana State Forest, they shared in trade and tradition, shaping the landscape we now embrace with reverence.

Fill the tub, light the fire, and enjoy a slow soak under the stars.
2-3 hour minimum time requirement. No soaking on check-out day. Wood Provided.

Amenities: Main floor is wheelchair friendly. Ensuite bathroom with shower, kitchenette with two burner induction plate and mini fridge with freezer, lofted queen bed, dining table and chairs, sitting area, and a private outdoor fire pit with charchoal grill. 1 King bed on main floor 1 open lofted queen bed. 1 bathroom. Sleeps 4.

For infants to children 2 years old: guests can request a pack-n-play prior to their stay to be available during stay free of charge.

The dome is constructed of galvanized steel, extreme insulated liner, and PVC canvas that will keep you warm in winter and cool in summer. Though the domes are luxurious, they are still a "glorified tent" meaning you're close to nature and the natural environment can occasionally make an appearance.

Self-check in via keycode and hosts are always available by message.

Our most Sunlit dome, designed for slow mornings, quiet coffee, an the gentle rhythm of the prairie just outside your window. Named after the vibrant goldenrod flowers that adorn the prairie, Solidago offers a breathtaking panorama of one of Minnesota's most cherished and vanishing ecosystems; the native prairie landscape. Today, merely fragments of Minnesota's prairies endure, accounting for less than 1% of their former expanse. Sweetbriar Ridge stands firm in its pledge to preserve and rejuvenate these grasslands, safeguarding their ecological richness for generations to come.

Indulge in the simple pleasure of a freshly brewed cup of coffee as the morning mist gracefully ascends above the prairie. Witness the tranquil beauty of White-tailed Deer grazing, wild turkeys strutting, and monarch butterflies dancing amidst the summer blooms from our Solidago Glamping Dome.. In winter, experience a serene landscape blanketed in snow, where the delicate whispers of snowflakes drifting over the crust-packed grown evoke a unique sense of quiet and prairie charm.
