Hike
Bring hiking shoes as we have 56 acres of private woods and prairies to explore or sit along the tranquil stream that runs throughout the middle of the property that attracts diverse birds and wildlife.

Snowshoes
Each dome is outfitted with two pairs of complementary snowshoes to explore the property during the beautiful Minnesota winters.

Relax
Cozy up next to the fire and get lost in your favorite read or toss up a hammock and snooze under the tree canopy.

Stargazing
Enjoy the dark skies by viewing the stars from the stargazing window inside of the dome or sit outside immersed in the sounds of the night, including chirping crickets, owl hoots, and coyote calls.

Campfire

Enjoy great conversation around the campfire with your beverage in hand. Complementary wood and s'mores provided.

Coffee
Enjoy a slow morning with a cup of fresh brewed coffee and soaking in the views overlooking the prairie or stream from the 20 foot bay window of your dome. Complimentary coffee provided.

Birdwatching
Sweetbriar Ridge is home to many migrant and year round bird species. Hike the 56 acres for excellent birding or watch from the bay window of the dome.

West Side Park
Cool off at the local swimming beach at West Side Park and enjoy free paddle boats to explore around the pond. See more info here.

Voyageur Park
Take a selfie with the Voyageur Statue in Voyageur Park in Pine City, the largest redwood sculpture in Minnesota which stands over 35 feet tall!

Snake River Fur Post
Learn about the fur trading and Native American history in the area by stepping back in time and visiting the Snake River Fur Post. Archaeological and historical exhibits, guided tours, and interpretive trails you can explore at your own pace while discovering the fur trading economy between the Ojibwe people and voyageurs along the snake river.  See more info here.

The Snake and St. Croix Rivers
FISH or relax along the gorgeous Snake River that is over 100 miles long and a tributary to the St. Croix River. The snake river connects the two lakes in Pine City, Cross Lake and Pokegama Lake and is home to walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass, catfish, and lake sturgeon. PADDLE the Snake River in a kayak or canoe and let Snake River Outfitters or Wild River Outfitter along the St. Croix River plan the perfect day trip for you along with a shuttle pick up service! 

Governor Knowles State Forest
Hike in Governor Knowles State Forest on the Sandrock Cliffs Trail (2.6 miles out and back) that follows along the scenic St. Croix River, just across the Wisconsin border. Trailhead starts at the Highway 70 boat landing parking lot. See more info here.

Cross-Country Ski

Waxing those skis, put on your boots, and hit up many of the cross country skiing trails located at Governor Knowles State Forest, Banning State Park, Wild River State Park, and St. Croix State Park. (Snow dependent).

Chengwatana State Forest

Take a hike to Million Dollar Bridge in the Chengwatana State Forest in Pine City, MN. Just a short trail off of HWY 8. Finding this hidden gem is part of the fun!

Mountain Bike
Don’t forget your bike! Chengwatana State Forest and St. Croix State Park has mountain biking trails for all types of adventurers! Local guide tip: Get a stamp in your Minnesota State Parks Passport. See more info here. 

St. Croix State Park
Climb the fire tower at Minnesota’s largest state park, St. Croix State Park which has a fantastic view of the St. Croix River and surrounding state park from 100 feet above the ground. The park also has a variety of hiking trails of different lengths for a variety of ages and abilities. See more info here. 

River Float
If relaxing is more your vacation style, float down the river by tubing adventure with Sunrise River Tubing and Ice Cream and Shoppe located in North Branch. Local guide tip: You can bring your own cooler or rent one to enjoy some cold refreshing drinks while floating down the river.

Peaceful Pines Farm
Peaceful Pines Farm is a great fall activity for a couple or family to enjoy on the weekends September through October to visit the pumpkin patch, apple orchard, and bring home a bottle of sweet local honey! See more info here.

Pine City Country Club is a regulation length 9 hole par 36 golf course that is open to the public.

Explore the local trails year round by ATV/Snowmobile! Bring your own or rent one from T & T sports located next door in Rush City. Pine County has some of the best maintained ATV and snowmobiling trails in the state. Find out trail conditions and maps here. Paddleboards
Complimentary standup Paddle Boards and Sit-On-Top kayaks are available during your stay. Throw the blowup board or kayak in your car and drive down the road to Snake River Landing, just a short 5 minutes from Sweetbriar Ridge. Spend the afternoon on the water exploring Cross Lake or float down the Snake or St. Croix River Waterways. Lifejackets, paddles, and pump are provided. (Please message host during booking to reserve paddle boards and kayaks).

Is locally made craft beer your thing? Visit Three Twenty Brewing Company for a great selection of brews from sours, IPA’s, lagers, kombucha, seltzer, cold press coffee, and more! Local guide tip: They have a great patio, often with live music and food trucks! You’ll want to check their website for hours to plan your trip accordingly. 

Pizza Pub
If you're in the mood for great tasting pizza, pasta and burgers, you’ll need to stop at Pizza Pub and order their award winning house pizza located right in Pine City. This family owned restaurant has been serving homemade pizza since 1976 and even offers ax throwing inside the restaurant! 

Maverick’s Saloon
Maverick’s Saloon will hit the spot after a day of hiking with cold drinks, great food, and friendly staff, plus you can’t beat the location as the neighborhood bar and grill located just 2 miles down the road. Pro guide tip: They are closed on Monday’s and often host off road events such as racing and pit events for ATVs, UTVs and Trucks during the summer weekends.

Take a detour on your way to Pine City to explore Wild River State Park. Hike the Old Logging Trail to Old Nevers Dam and come back along the Walter Mondale River Trail (3 miles).

This is heaven on earth for birders and nature photographers! This 30,000 acre property  managed by the Wisconsin DNR and has beautiful scenic views and a nice drive through the park for birding by car. See more info here.

Is winter climbing your thing? Check out Sandstone Ice Park 20 minutes north in Sandstone, MN. This park is managed by the Minnesota Climbers Association and sees climbable ice from late December to early March and is free and open to the public. See more info here

Experience the Pine County Fair in late July/early August, which is a free 5 day event that features one of Minnesota’s largest demolition derbys.
